It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our master, Mr. Hiromichi Kuroki, the founder of Miyakonojyo Aikido Renseikai.

He became seriously ill in early spring of 2011 and had been under medical treatment. Despite his family’s dedicated care, he passed away on 14th December 2011 at the age of 63.

Mr. Kuroki established Miyakonojyo Aikido Renseikai in 1982 at Miyakonojyo-city of Miyazaki-prefecture, Japan. Since then he had been working energetically for the spread and development of this martial art, Aikido, and brought up and produced many disciples for over 30 years.

As a martial artist (Budo-ka), he always made constant efforts for self-training and sought true theory of Aikido for many years.

While he was very strict with himself, he was always gentle to his students, he instructed them “self-awareness”. Therefore, not just for his skill, but for his personality, he was the best fatherly master for us, the person who inspired respect and admiration.

We believe he still keeps on walking the way of Aikido, the way of “Banyu-Aigo” (Protect and care about everything), now in heaven. We can see the endless Aikido way he showed us, which will link to his way someday. We will keep walking together this way that our master lighted up brightly.

In order to follow his will, the new Dojo governing board has been organized and launched. We, Aikido children of H.Kuroki, will do our best to develop his Dojo to make our departed master rest in repose.

We give sincere thanks and respect to our master H. Kuroki and pray his soul may rest in peace.
